White Leghorn hens are a top producer of large white eggs laying 5+ weekly and often laying over 300 annually. The breed came to the United States in 1835 but originated in Italy. Their prolific egg production makes them one of the most popular breeds of laying chickens.  They start out as yellow chicks with yellow legs.  We raise utility type for egg production not show and these have come from a hatchery.  Chicks have been know to have flecks on them and funny looking head feathers as chicks.
