Light Brahma Chickens are an extremely winter-hardy and strong dual-purpose breed. Their docile, gentle, and quiet temperament makes them one of the best breeds for children. Light Brahmas sometimes go broody and are attentive mothers. They are good layers of medium to large brown eggs. Males can grow to be over 10 pounds making them a good choice for meat production. They are not the best choice of breed for very hot areas though. Our Brahams have came from all over the US. We have hatched eggs out from breeders in TX, picked up birds in TN, and got our first pair from a private breeder. Brahmas can lay up to 200 eggs per year.
